Focus on Interpersonal Skills
Agile working can sometimes focus too much on theory. However, the real success of the approach lies in translating these principles into action. Surprisingly, this was a significant part of the Agile Coaching Professional course. Mayank Khare noted that the content wasn't exclusively related to agile principles and manifestos. Instead, a significant part of the course was devoted to developing coaching skills. Coaching isn't the same as mentoring, as it involves helping individuals achieve their goals. Asking the right questions at the right time is a crucial skill, as is knowing how to approach people. Improving these interpersonal skills is essential because not everyone has a similar mindset. As Carolien Wiltink pointed out, coaching skills are particularly helpful when working with non-IT people.
