Andres Jansen updates the agenda for November 12th, the RTE Summit 2019. As chairman of the RTE Summit 2019, Andres Jansen is certain that this year’s edition on 12 November of 2019 will be even better than the last one. “We’re circling the speakers list, admiring the venue and building the social program. Not wanting to be pinned down by a theme, we’ve nonetheless listed several clear topics for the event. It’s exciting!”
“We’re definitely keeping the peer-to-peer atmosphere and the frank, open approach. We’re also confident we can serve up just as exciting a set of cases to present as last year. What we’re adding this November is a request from our participants for more interactivity and discussion. Expect some Open Space-type moments around the most relevant topics, for example.
More maturity for the RTE
One leading thought for this edition is the context for the work of the RTE. How does Finance see us? How do we involve our colleagues more deeply in what we do? What do we need from them, and what do they need from us?
Naturally, this shouldn’t be an RTEs-only discussion. That’s why I’m seeking out speakers from some leading organizations with substantial experience working with RTEs, on how they see our role grow and gain impact. The first speaker we have lined up is Martin Hofman, currently an Agile Controller Schiphol Airport. He’s a seasoned Agilist and Controller with experience in both securing the budget for teams in an Agile way of working and controlling it at Royal Schiphol Group.
More speakers expected
We´re still building the agenda though, so I cannot disclose at this point who else is coming. Stay tuned for more disclosures as confirmations come in.
Music laces a ‘meeting of the minds’
Although 2018’s Summit had Johan Cruyff smiling down on the audience at the Amsterdam ArenA stadium, Andres expects similar – even more awesomeness for 2019. The ’Music Building on the IJ’ is Amsterdam’s home of jazz. A prestigious venue, made for concerts and recitals, boasting fantastic 360° views of the IJ lake and harbor.” Smiling in anticipation: “The venue as a great excuse to build a thrilling side program. Expect some cool musical surprises.”
