After four successful editions of the RTE Summit in Europe, we’re taking this event to the United States: RTE Summit Americas! As the first and only event to focus entirely on building best practices for the role of the Release Train Engineers and Scrum Masters at scale, Gladwell Academy and Scaled Agile are bringing this event to the Western hemisphere. Andres Jansen, chairman of the previous Summits will host the Summit in New York City on the June 19th.
Why are we going global?
Andres Jansen: “The impact of this event grows stronger every year. More RTE-level Agilists join, and each one leaves with a deep vigour and brimming with ideas on how to carry the role in their own organisation. There are still relatively few RTEs in a given organisation, so there isn’t much choice for a ‘community of practice’.”
The RTE Summit fills that void – allowing RTEs and Chief Scrum Masters from various industries and backgrounds to exchange knowledge, share pivotal stories and best practices, become business friends: “We’re creating an community for Team-of-Team Agilists at scale, so to speak.”
Confessional and frank
Andres is chomping at the bit to leverage learnings from previous RTE Summits, which featured candid case presentations from major global innovation giants such as ASML, Amadeus, Philips Signify, and Air France-KLM. “We invite fellow RTEs from across the Americas to come share with their peers.
“The previous RTE Summits made their difference with a confessional, colloquial atmosphere marked by frank, open stories of mistakes and pivots and learning to counterweight the many success stories. People really acknowledged reality, and thereby rallied to face it stronger.”
The RTE is the theme
Smiling quizzically, Andres underlines that “We deliberately chose not to build the meeting around a specific theme. The RTE is the theme, and we build the line-up around everything that should be of interest to that role. Facilitating the ART ceremonies, interacting with business owners, moving people to excel, building a collective culture from nothing… it’s all there.
Calling on American RTEs
“Key to the success of the RTE Summit will be the ability to leverage our substantial American network to build an interesting program.” says Andres. “But naturally we’re open to new input as well.
“So, if you’re an RTE, if you host ceremonies at the ART level or Agile processes at a significant scale, with org-level transformation challenges: look me up if you have a story to tell or learning to share. We’ll review your idea and we can work out an outline together. My e-mail address is below!”
