SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)

A Scrum Master is a servant leader who promotes the Scrum framework, coaches the team on Agile practices, encourages self-organization and supports the team in overcoming obstacles to achieve their goals more effectively. Take your organization's adaptability to the next level with the SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) training.

During this two-day training (9 a.m. - 5 p.m., including lunch), you'll discover what your role as Scrum Master entails with respect to people coaching and in the context of a large organization. Through interactive sessions, including role play exercises for coaching techniques, you will learn:

• Significance of Scrum in a SAFe environment
• Facilitating Scrum (events) throughout the organization
• Main Agile components of scaled product development
• Setting up and guiding Agile teams (through ‘servant leading’)
• Coaching skills for more constructive interactions withing the team and to maximize results at scale
• Planning & execution of the Planning Interval (PI)
• Effective execution of Iteration Planning

Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs)

Attending this course means that you may be eligible to apply for 15 Continuing Education – Strategic PDUs toward your continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP and PMI-ACP certifications. You may also be eligible to apply for SEUs under category C, toward earning or renewing your CSP through Scrum Alliance.

This training is for people who are not yet familiar with the role of Scrum Master, as well as for people who want to gain a better understanding of the role and how it fits into the context of a SAFe® enterprise. Suitable participants for this training include new or existing Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and team leaders.

Prerequisites

Anyone can participate in the training. To also take part in the exam, you need to:

• Be familiar with Agile concepts and principles

• Be aware of Scrum, Kanban and eXtreme Programming (XP)

• Have practical knowledge of software and hardware development processes
