A Lean Portfolio Manager is responsible for coordinating and streamlining an organization's portfolio. This includes defining portfolio strategies, determining KPIs and monitoring performance.

The LPM training consists of a two-day course. You will acquire all knowledge needed to set up a SAFe organization around value creation for optimal business results. During the training, we will explore the implementation of LPM within your own organization. You will learn to:

Connect Lean portfolio to business strategy
Understand theory and implement Lean-Agile budgeting
Realize portfolio flow with Portfolio Kanban
Support Operational Excellence with APMO and CoPs
Coordinate value streams
Measure LPM performance
Implement LPM within own organization (workshop)

LPM Exam & Certification

The SAFe Lean Portfolio Management training is a two-day training program (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, including lunch), delivered by inspiring SAFe Program Consultants (SPCs) and SAFe Program Consultant Trainers (SPCTs). All our consultants work in the field themselves and have extensive experience implementing SAFe within large organizations.

After the training and passing the exam, you will be a certified SAFe Lean Portfolio Manager. You will receive:

Official SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager (LPM) certificate
Digital badge of the certificate (to share online)
One-year certified membership as a SAFe Lean Portfolio Manager, granting you access to the SAFe Community of Practice
User manual for the SAFe LPM certificate (including certification marks)
Access to a wide range of learning resources to support certified professionals during the SAFe journey

Upon passing the exam, your profile will be immediately updated by the Scaled Agile Academy. From then on, you will have access to the private online community, and it will be possible to make your profile public within the Scaled Agile community.

Exam

Format: Multiple choice questions, Multiple select
Exam delivery: Web-based, closed book, no outside assistance, timed
Access to exam: Candidates will receive acces to the exam on the SAFe Learning Platform after completing the course
Duration: Once the exam has started, the candidate has 90 minutes to complete the exam.
Number of questions: 45
Passing score: 77% correct
Language: English
Exam cost: The first attempt is included in your course registration fee, if taken within 60 days of course completion.

Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) is one of the five core competencies of a Lean enterprise. That’s why this course is essential for anyone involved in Lean-Agile Program Portfolio Management. Course participants include Product and Portfolio Managers, Business Analysts, CIOs & CTOs, Product/Program Directors, Agile PMOs, Agile Change Agents and Consultants.

Prerequisites

Anyone may participate in this training. We do recommend that you have experience with the principles of SAFe.

Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs)

Attending this course means that you may be eligible to apply for 15 Continuing Education – Strategic PDUs toward your continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP and PMI-ACP certifications. You may also be eligible to apply for SEUs under category C, toward earning or renewing your CSP through Scrum Alliance.
