Meet Your Trainer: Roland Flemm

At Gladwell Academy, we are proud to be working with the best trainers in the field. Doing so helps us warrant the best and most relevant training experience for all our clients. Recently, we partnered with Roland Flemm for our Scrum.org trainings. Roland has extensive experience as an Organisation Design Consultant and Professional Scrum Trainer across Europe. He is fluent in English, French, and Dutch and has worked with companies such as ING, Philips, Backbase, ABN AMRO, DSG, Thales, and many more. At Gladwell Academy, we are beyond excited to be adding Roland's knowledge and experience to our training portfolio.

But who is the man behind our PSM 1 & 2 trainings? What brought him where he is today, and what motivates him to work agile? Continue reading below to find out who Roland Flemm is.

Hello Ronald, we are very excited to be collaborating with you. What inspired you to become a transformation coach?

With the work I am doing, I would like to make the world a bit better. We can all be much happier, and that is exactly what Agile brings us.

What makes a training with you a unique experience?

My trainings are unique because I teach by the 4 E’s: Education, Empowerment, Enthusiasm, and Entertainment. With me, there’s never a dull moment during the trainings, and I always make sure that my courses are packed with a high information density. But I always advise everyone to come find this out for themselves!

What is it about Gladwell Academy that makes you excited to collaborate with us?

Gladwell Academy is a pioneer in bringing about Agile transformations. You guys were the first to introduce the concept in Europe and continue to work hard to expand your portfolio and grow into new markets. The opportunity to train in three languages and different locations is certainly a plus. Gladwell Academy and I both attach a lot of value to high quality and excellent service. That is why I knew I wanted to work with Gladwell Academy!

Gladwell Academy provides the tools and knowledge for people to advance in their professional careers. What is something you are currently aiming for?

If there is one thing I have learned over these years as a trainer and coach, it is the joy of continuous learning. Working Agile requires organisations to be able to adjust, but working Agile has to be extrapolated to an individual level. It is the individuals that build an organisation, and individual transformations that initiate organisational transformation.

Personally, I’d like to continue training more on an international level. Something I look forward to do with Gladwell Academy. Another milestone that I am chasing, is finishing my book on working Agile. I want it to be very informative, but also fun to read. I will keep you updated, to be continued!

What is a fun fact about you that not many people know?

It has very little to do with Agile Transformations, but all the more with practicing patience: I fish shrimp while wading in the North Sea. I love being out in nature, some of my best ideas occur while breathing the salty air and looking out over the water. Oh, and I like to create small comics to briefly illustrate office dynamics and agile concepts in a fun and recognizable way.
