RTE & Scrum Master Summit 2026

Dear RTE friends,

After more than a decade, RTE Summit by Gladwell Academy is coming to an end. Gladwell Academy (part of Highberg) is now focusing its direction on helping organizations transform in the age of AI. Within that strategic direction, continuing to organize the RTE Summit is unfortunately no longer feasible. This means the Summit will no longer continue as a Gladwell Academy event.

For 11 years, the Summit has been built around one simple mission:

For RTEs, by RTEs.

What a ride it has been. We have shared laughter and sorrow, love and passion, growth and learning. We have challenged one another, made lasting connections and built a strong community around a role that can sometimes feel rather lonely.

The very first Summit was initiated by the late Andres Jansen. What he started grew into something remarkable, and his legacy has lived on through 11 years of inspiring sessions, conversations and friendships.

But this may not be the end of the Summit itself.

A small team of passionate RTEs has stepped forward and is exploring a community-led continuation of the event. They are currently working towards one final community edition on Thursday, 29 October 2026, founded on the original mission: For RTEs, by RTEs.

We want to be transparent: this event is not yet confirmed. The most important outstanding issue is finding a suitable location. With virtually no event budget, the community depends on an organization being willing to provide a venue. Discussions are underway, but no location has yet been committed. If a suitable venue cannot be secured, there will be no RTE Summit on 29 October.

Whatever happens next, we want to thank you for being part of this journey. The RTE Summit was never just a conference. It became a place where people could meet as peers, speak honestly, learn together and feel part of something bigger.
