During this two-day training (9 a.m. – 5 p.m., including lunch), you'll discover what your role as Scrum Master entails in terms of people coaching and within the context of large organizations. Through interactive sessions, including role-play exercises for coaching techniques, you will learn:

  • The significance of Scrum in a SAFe environment
  • How to facilitate Scrum events throughout the organization
  • The main Agile components of scaled product development
  • How to set up and guide Agile teams through servant leadership
  • Coaching skills for constructive team interactions and maximizing results at scale
  • Planning and execution of the Planning Interval (PI)
  • Effective execution of Iteration Planning

Enhancing Scrum Master effectiveness with AI-supported practices:

  • Applying practical AI techniques to prepare and facilitate Scrum events
  • Using AI tools to help identify impediments and improve team flow
  • Strengthening collaboration through smarter information synthesis

Certification

SSM exam & certificate

After completing the training and passing the exam, you will be a certified SAFe Scrum Master (SSM). This comes with:

  • Official SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) certificate
  • Digital badge of the certificate (to share & promote online)
  • Access to various learning resources to support certified professionals during their SAFe journey

The Scaled Agile Academy will update your profile as soon as you pass the exam. From then onwards, you will have access to the private, online community and the possibility to make your profile public within the Scaled Agile community. Until that moment, only you have the privilege to see your certification.

Exam Details

  • Exam name: SAFe® 6.0 Scrum Master

  • Format: Multiple choice questions, Multiple select
  • Exam delivery: Web-based, closed book, no outside assistance, timed
  • Access to exam: Candidates will receive acces to the exam on the SAFe Learning Platform after completing the course
  • Duration: Once the exam has started, the candidate has 90 minutes to complete the exam.
  • Number of questions: 45
  • Passing score: 73% correct
  • Language: English
  • Exam cost: The first two attempts are included in your course registration fee, if taken within 60 days of course completion.

Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs)

Attending this course means that you may be eligible to apply for 15 Continuing Education – Strategic PDUs toward your continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for PMP and PMI-ACP certifications. You may also be eligible to apply for SEUs under category C, toward earning or renewing your CSP through Scrum Alliance.

Audience

This training is for people who are not yet familiar with the role of Scrum Master, as well as for people who want to gain a better understanding of the role and how it fits into the context of a SAFe® enterprise. Suitable participants for this training include new or existing Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and team leaders.

Prerequisites

Anyone can participate in the training. To also take part in the exam, you need to:

  • Be familiar with Agile concepts and principles

  • Be aware of Scrum, Kanban and eXtreme Programming (XP)

  • Have practical knowledge of software and hardware development processes
