About

In this two-day AI training for the public sector, you’ll learn not only what AI is, but especially how to apply generative AI and LLMs concretely within government contexts. You’ll discover how to use AI within the boundaries of the GDPR, AI Act, and internal governance, and how to redesign processes to reduce workload and increase execution capacity.
We work with recognizable public-sector cases such as FOI/Woo requests, policy writing, citizen service, reporting, and internal advisory tasks. You will practice safe prompting, explore limits and risks, and learn how to protect government data and confidential information. The goal is that after the training, you can work with AI confidently and responsibly within your government organization.

Objectives

After completing this AI fundamentals training for the public sector, you will understand the impact of exponential technologies on a stable government and society, and you’ll be able to clearly explain this context to colleagues and leaders. You can explain in accessible language how generative AI, LLMs, and RAG work, so colleagues and decision-makers understand what is and isn’t possible.
You know how to prompt safely and effectively, avoiding unnecessary risks of data leaks or privacy violations and staying aligned with the GDPR and AI Act. You will also be able to redesign existing government processes so AI can help reduce administrative burdens and waiting times.
Finally, you will create a personal 30-60-90 day plan to introduce AI step by step within your team or department—helping you move more quickly from policy to execution and play an active role in responsible AI innovation within the public sector.

Program

  • AI Basics: moving from “magical” AI to understandable principles and examples
  • Data and LLMs: why data quality, governance, and context are crucial in government tasks
  • Prompting and safe use: how to use AI without sharing classified information or personal data, aligned with GDPR and the AI Act

Public Value

This AI training for the public sector delivers not only individual skills but also tangible organizational impact. Teams learn how to achieve more with the same number of people by using AI support. Employees discover how to use AI responsibly within GDPR and AI Act boundaries, reducing shadow IT and promoting conscious, compliant use.

Citizens benefit from shorter processing times, clearer communication, and improved information services. Processes become simpler, and repetitive tasks can be intelligently supported or automated

Certification

After completing the training, you will receive the official Certified AI-Native Foundations Professional certificate from Scaled Agile Inc. (valid for one year). This certificate demonstrates that you understand AI fundamentals, generative AI, and safe use—and can apply this knowledge in a complex public environment where the GDPR, AI Act, and public values are central.

Audience

This training is designed for public-sector professionals who want to use AI in their work without needing to become technical specialists.
You’re a good fit if you are, for example, a manager or department head seeking to understand how AI can increase execution capacity and what risks and legal frameworks apply. The training is also a great match for policy officers or advisors wanting to use AI for research, summarization, and clear B1-level communication to citizens and leadership.
Product Owners and IT/IV specialists working in agile teams will find a solid foundation for integrating AI into services, systems, and digital portals. Finally, the training is highly relevant for HR, Legal, Procurement, and Control professionals who want to accelerate repetitive work with AI without violating regulations.

Requirements

No technical background is required. Affinity with digitalization, data use, or process improvement in government is helpful. It’s ideal if you bring your own process, task, or case from your organization to practice with.
During the training, we preferably work with an AI tool such as ChatGPT or Copilot, within the rules of your organization. All core concepts are explained step by step in plain language, tailored to the public sector.
